Maintenance Mechanic

The primary responsibility of the Maintenance Mechanic is to maintain and repair manufacturing equipment, ensure adherence to maintenance schedules, and troubleshoot and repair various facility machinery. The ideal candidate should have a strong mechanical aptitude, be able to work independently and have a commitment to safety and quality.

Salary Range: $30 to $35 per hour
Work Hours: 7 am to 4 pm
Reports to: VP of Manufacturing
Location: 100% onsite
Essential Duties

Conduct preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment in accordance with maintenance schedules.

Troubleshoot and repair various facility machinery, including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

Schedule and perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment and ensure that it is properly cleaned and stored.

Develop and implement maintenance procedures to minimize downtime and increase efficiency.

Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed.

Inspect machines regularly for signs of malfunctions, including visual and sound inspections, and ensure that all safety protocols are strictly followed.

Work effectively with other team members in a loud environment
Minimum Requirements
-
Technical ability, problem-solving orientation, good practical skills, manual dexterity

Successful trade or vocational school completion
-
5+ years’ experience in one or more of the maintenance trades

Strong mechanical and manufacturing experience

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to act competently in emergencies.

Working knowledge of two or more trades

Valid driver's license
Preferred Requirements
-
Two or four-year degree in mechanical, electrical, or engineering specialties.
-
Experience in the fiberglass industry servicing HVLP spray guns, resin-fiberglass chop spray guns, resin mixing equipment, heat tunnels, and other industrial equipment.

Forklift maintenance and repair.

HVAC and boiler maintenance and repair.

Ability to read and understand electrical and plumbing schematics for service repairs.
Physical Requirements

Ability to walk, stand, and lift heavy objects for an extended period.

Use their hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.

Repeat the same movements while wearing PPE the entire day.

Bend or twist their body and move and lift at least 50 pounds.

The employee spends most of the day on their feet and must follow strict safety rules.

They wear necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, hearing protection, respirators, hard-toe shoes, and Tyvek paint suits, as necessary.
