Production Facility Manager

Tubs-USA in High Point, NC, is seeking a highly motivated Production Facility Manager to join our team working in a hands-on, collaborative environment. We are a leading manufacturer of fiberglass tubs and showers. Our company operates in a high-speed production facility environment, and we provide high-quality products to our customers. The ideal candidate will have experience with facility operations and management, high attention to detail, shipping and receiving, order tracking, part production, production deadlines, material storage, distribution, inventory tracking, and employee management.

 

FLSA Classification: Hourly non-exempt
Type: Full-time
Salary Range: $25 to $30 per hour
Work Hours: 7 am to 4 pm
Reports to: VP of Manufacturing
Location: 100% onsite

 

Essential Duties

  • Oversee all aspects of production facility operations, including production scheduling, material procurement, production, shipping, and receiving.

  • Ensure that production targets and deadlines are met while maintaining a focus on quality.

  • Manage inventory levels and implement measures to ensure timely and efficient distribution of materials.

  • Manage all aspects of the production process, including production line set-up, machine maintenance, and troubleshooting.

  • Develop and implement procedures to improve production efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure the safety of employees.

  • Monitor production data and performance metrics, analyze trends, and develop and implement solutions to address any issues.

  • Manage and motivate a team of production employees, ensuring they are properly trained, coached, and supervised to meet production goals.

  • Ensure all production-related paperwork and documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S principles.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts through the application of Kaizen while communicating regularly with upper management regarding production issues.

  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers, vendors, and other stakeholders.

 

Minimum Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in production management, preferably in a high-speed production environment.

  • Strong knowledge of production processes, quality control, inventory management, and distribution.

  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze production data, identify trends, and develop and implement solutions.

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with employees, customers, vendors, and other stakeholders.

  • Knowledge of 5S principles and Kaizen philosophy.

  • Strong work ethic and a commitment to safety.

 

Preferred Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing or a related field.

  • Experience in a fiberglass production facility or related industry.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to walk, stand, and lift heavy objects for an extended period.

  • Use their hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.

  • Repeat the same movements while wearing PPE the entire day.

  • Bend or twist their body and move and lift at least 50 pounds.

  • The employee spends most of the day on their feet and must follow strict safety rules.

  • They wear necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, hearing protection, respirators, hard-toe shoes, and Tyvek paint suits, as necessary.
